"I have been passionate about nature ever since I was a child. When I found out about the Bachelor in Environmental Studies Program at York, it seemed like a great fit. My goal was to figure out my role in nature protection. The flexibility of the BES program allowed me to explore many interests until I realized that I wanted to focus on environmental policy issues. Researching and writing my BES thesis was great preparation for my work as a policy consultant."
Biography: 
After completing her BES, Ani worked on the Walkerton Water Inquiry as an environmental and public policy consultant. With the same consultancy, she wrote water-related materials for Pollution Probe, and worked on a project for the International Joint Commission on areas of concern in the Great Lakes. In 2002, Ani moved to England to deepen her knowledge through pursuing a Master's Degree in Environmental Change and Management at the University of Oxford. Ani is now working as a Public Policy Consultant.

Biography: 
Erin focused her studies on environmental policy, advocacy, and international development. After completing her BES degree in 1999, Erin was elected as a municipal Councillor for the Town of Markham, and received a 63% majority based on her anti-sprawl and environmental platform. As the only woman to sit on the council, as well as the youngest voice on council, Erin was successfully re-elected in 2003 and continues to be a strong voice for residents and a successful advocate for environmental and social issues in Markham.
