The Faculty of Environmental Studies welcomes you to  visit us throughout the school year, from September to April! We will customize a day just for you that will suit your interest in our Faculty.

We offer two programs:

Do you have a passion for environmental and social change? The York Environmental Studies (YES!) for a Day program is your opportunity to try out the Environmental Studies experience at York University and see if it's right for you! We offer visits Monday to Friday from January to March. It's perfect for a PA day or during March Break.  Whether you have just a few hours or the whole day, we can customize a visit just for you!

Your visit can include:

  • Sitting in on a 1st or 2nd year Environmental Studies class
  • Meeting with a current Environmental Studies student
  • Chatting with an Admissions and Recruitment representative
  • Participating in an environmentally focused campus tour

YES! For a day for High Schools

The Faculty of Environmental Studies welcomes high school groups to visit
our Faculty throughout the school year. We will customize a day for you
and your students that will fit directly into the topics you are covering
in your classes.

Lectures can be developed for all grade levels (between Gr. 9 and 12) in
any of the following areas:

  • Aboriginal and Indigenous Studies
  • Biology – Plants and Animals
  • Canadian and World Issues
  • Civics – Green/Environmental Careers and Green Industries
  • Challenge and Change
  • Climate Change
  • Community Arts (Dance, Film, Visual Arts and Theatre)

  • 11:00am: Environmental Campus Tour of Canada’s most sustainable university
  • 12:00pm: Departure or Class lunch (payment required if catering is
    requested)

  • 11:00am: School arrival and welcome lunch (payment required if catering is
    requested)
  • 12:00pm: Welcome and Guest Lecture, including hands on activities and Q&As
