Nishnawbe Aski Nation Youth Gambling Pilot Project
The overall goal of this pilot project was to understand more about First Nations youth and how gambling affected their lives, in order to design community interventions that are respectful, relevant and healthy. Using arts-based activities, First Nations youth were engaged in talking and sharing circles to communicate the effect of gambling on their lives and the community. Topics explored were the types of gambling activities engaged in, frequency of gambling activities, precursors to gambling, motivations for gambling, and the meaning and significance of gambling to the individual and the youth community.
