Purpose

The Honourable George and Helen Vari generously donated this award to support incoming students entering the Bachelor in Environmental Studies Program at York University. Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic merit. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and Ontario residents.

Eligibility

  • This award is open to incoming students entering the Bachelor in Environmental Studies Program at York University.

Criteria

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Be an Ontario resident.

  • Be an incoming student entering the first year of the BES program.

  • Demonstrate financial need on a bursary application.

  • Have a strong academic record.

Selection Process

  • Based on applications received, nominations will be made by the Undergraduate Program and Admissions Subcommittee to the Research and Awards Committee for a final decision on this award.
